Blue whales are back
As we headed to the bay this morning, once again we did not know what to expect. We decided to head towards North where we were hoping to find something. After quite a while we spotted a big spout further north. Now we set the course there. Soon we also realized that this was not only one spout, there where two of them. The next time as these whales surfaced we recognized that there were two Blue whales, a mother with a calf. We got some great looks at them before we had to set the course again towards Húsavík.
On the second trip we again set the course towards north. Again we had to sail for a while. But it paid off. Soon we spotted big splashes in the distance. There we had found a breaching Humpback whale. We got also lucky as we got closer for that he was still jumping. He continued doing that until we had to start the journey back home. After we had enjoyed the hot chocolate and the cinnamon rolls we saw some white beaked dolphins.
