Taking a closer look at a Humpback whale
Today as we left the port of Húsavík to the bay we were as always hoping to find some whales. After a while of searching we found a Humpback whale. He was not really lifting the fluke when he was going for the dive. Despite that we continued to follow this individual. After some time our zodiac joined us. The reason for that was that was that this Humpback whale seemed to be tangled in some fishing gear. They were trying to take pictures of that to be sure about that. This Humpback whale also came really close to us as it surfaced just in front of our boat Bjössi Sör. Once we also got lucky, the Humpback whale went for a dive with showing the tail fluke. There we also managed to take a picture where, later on, we noticed that this whale was tangled in some fishing gear. However, it did not appear to have significant impact on the humpback whale, and it looked like it had managed to get rid of it. Unfortunately we were running out of time so we had to leave this individual behind. On the way back we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
