Some few but very relaxed whales in Skjálfandi today

Today the bay was very overcast and rather cold but the water surface was virtually flat, allowing for decent visibility regardless. In the morning we had one Humpback Whale rather to the south of the bay and then more to the west a Minke Whale. Both of them were calm and easy to approach, which made up for how few they were this far to the south but more whales were further out. Then we went for a bit of seal watching as Captain Gylfi spotted some seals, most likely Grey Seals, on a rock on the western part of the bay but they went into the water as we came closer. Then in the afternoon we stuck to the eastern side of the bay as there we had a Humpback duo which was in all likelihood in association for we would often see them no more than 50-100 meters from one another and one commonly surfaced right after the other. Finally the captain treated us to a good view of Lundey Island, where not only a third blow was seen once or twice (but not the whale itself) but also flocks of delightful Atlantic Puffins.
