Dolphins, blue whale and a breaching humpback!
Today our bay was crawling with whales. The weather was a bit rough but getting wet and a little cold was so worth it!
I went on the 10 o’clock tour on our boat Garðar. It was raining and cold so we gave all our passengers overalls and raincoats to keep them as warm and dry as possible. After about a half an hour and a lot of waves we found a few white beaked dolphins. We didn’t get a very good look at them so we kept on going. After about 20 more minutes we spotted a few blows. When we came closer we found out it was a blue whale and three humpback whales all in the same area. They stayed pretty close to each other and we had them surfacing very close to the boat. When we had had a fantastic show one of the humpbacks put a cherry on top of the tour by breaching for us a several times! It was just amazing and everybody onboard was full of awe.
