Blue whale in the bay
This evening as we went in to the bay I did not expect a trip like this one. I started the trip like a normal trip. After the talk in the beginning I went in to the wheel house to get some extra cloths, even though the weather was grate. As I came in, engineer Tóti told me that other boats had spotted a Blue whale in the bay. In the beginning I did not believe him, but as captain Hrólfur confirmed I started to think about it. But still I did not really believe them.
Soon after I got to on top of the wheel hose I saw a mighty spout in the distance. It was too big to be something else than a Blue whale. And indeed we had found one. The last one was about a month ago.
We also got a great look at the Blue whale once as it came pretty close. Afterwards we continued the journey to the west. As we got closer we found another spout. There we had found a Humpback whale. Just like with the Blue whale we got a great look at this one before we had to turn again back to Húsavík. But on the way back home we enjoyed the hot chocolate and cinnamon buns.
