Dagmar Aaen and Pirola say goodbye

On the 27th of july our german friendships Pirola and Dagmar Aaen left the harbour of Húsavík in beautiful summer weather. Pirola headed back to her home port in  Hamburg, Germany.

Dagmar Aaen has been waiting for the ice-situation in Northeast Greenland to improve. Meanwhile they wanted to explore the scenary of north Iceland and took the course to Grímsey island and Siglufjörður, the famous herring town. Dagmar Aaen is now up in Scouresby Sound, Northeast Greenland, the worlds biggest fjord. The aim is to sail even further up north if the ice cap breaks up so she can sail up through the ice.  

 

The team of North Sailing and it‘s schooners are really thankful for wonderful days during Sail Húsavík festival. It sure was pleasure and an honor to have these two amazing vessels around!
