Whale watching can become an addiction

There are many examples of people coming again and again on North Sailing´s tours and some even sail out twice a day.

Evelyn & her friend Ursula were a good example of happy customers returning for their second and third trip, even considering their fourth. On one of the trips Evelyn told the captain on the schooner Haukur an interesting story about a saying among the Native Americans. According to Evelyn they believed that the memory of the world is embedded in the blue whales and that the day they would extinct, the world would collapse.

We´ll just have to hope that neither we nor coming generations will ever have to find out if this is true.

On one of Evelyn´s trips a pregnant blue whale was spotted, but it is said that if a blue whale lifts it´s fluke when taking a deep-dive it is a pregnant female.

A blue whale mother with a calf has also been spotted quite frequently in Skjálfandi bay in the last few days.
