The sun brings a town full of smiling tourists
When the sun arrived after cold and windy days it brought with it many smiling faces. Today was one of the busiest days in June for North Sailing as we had 3 additional departures for special groups. In total around 360 passengers sailed on the calm bay with dolphins and minke whales coming close to the boats.
Now, it’s just to hope that this beautiful weather lasts over the weekend as it’s a busy one for the company. Tomorrow night we plan to sail to Grimsey Island, as a part of the Whale Festival, held annually in Husavik. The trip departs at 8pm and estimated arrival in Grimsey is around midnight. There we will cross the Arctic Circle and enjoy light refreshments, estimated return to Husavik is 5am.
On Saturday, to celebrate the “Swedish Days” festival in Husavik, North Sailing and Salka Restaurant invite everyone (max 120) to follow in the “footsteps” of Gardar and Nattfari – the first Nordic people to discover Iceland.
