In March, the whale watching has been great! We’ve already spotted humpback whales, fin whales, white-beaked dolphins, and the iconic orcas in Húsavík!
Spotting the Orcas has definitely been the highlight of our whale watching tours so far.
Easter Whale Watching Húsavík: Which Whales Can I Spot?
Húsavík is the best place in Iceland to go whale watching! Due to a large number of whale species visiting Skjálfandi bay regularly, Húsavík is rightly called the Whale Capital of Iceland.
In April, passengers can expect to see seven whale species:
Whale Watching Húsavík April: Meet the Puffins!
Puffins arrive in Iceland in April! Luckily, puffins are found in Húsavík. More specifically, they are found on the Puffin Island located in Skjálfandi bay. The Puffin Island is the home of over 200,000 puffins during the summer, and they begin to migrate to the Island from the middle of April! We’re looking forward receiving these iconic Icelandic birds yet again!
From April 16 onwards, we offer scheduled whale and puffin watching tours! Therefore, it’s possible to add puffins to the wildlife adventure during your whale watching tour in April!

The departure times are as follow:
In March, there’s one departure.

In April, there are up to four departures:
- From April 1-15:
- The Húsavík Original Whale Watching at 09:30 and 13:00
- From April 16-30
- The Húsavík Original Whale Watching at 09:30 and 13:00
- The Húsavík Original Whale Watching & Puffins at 11:00 and 15:00
