Happy summer – the first minke whale of the season!
The day today is officially the first day of summer in Iceland and today the first minke whale was found by captain Hrólfur on good old Knörrinn. So far this season it’s been mainly harbor porpoises and white beaked dolphins seen on the tours plus a tour with lots of Killer whales and just before the season a humpback whale was seen swimming in the harbour of Húsavík.
In general, life seems to be blooming now, both birds and whales but the first puffins were also seen few days ago.
