Humpback whale celebrates May 1st.

A humpback whale has not been spotted in Skjálfandi this season before apart from the brief visit into Húsavík harbour just before the season start… until today!   Captain Hrólfur was then, like so many previous years the first captain in the area to spot a humpback whale in Skjálfandi bay.  Passengers on Knörrinn were of course delighted but not only did they enjoy the humpback whale but also a couple of minke whales.

We, the landlubbers hope captain Hrólfur and the guide, Halla Marín, who is an excellent photographer will bring us some photos of the first whale which we will then of course 

This was in fact the first morning trip of the season as the may schedule kicked in with an added departure.  So now, at 10:00 and 13:30 ….
