This whale watching season has been nothing short of extraordinary, surpassing all expectations. As we reflect upon the incredible moments in Skjálfandi Bay, we would love to share the experiences from the perspectives of our passengers. Colourful and passionate team
It has always been a great pride for North Sailing to employ a diverse group of guides who hails from various corners of the world. With their wide range of backgrounds, including marine biologists, experienced sailors and many other specialities, we create a uniquely colourful team with a shared passion for whales and other wildlife. Each guide brings its own unique perspective, stories, and experiences, enriching the overall whale watching tour for everyone onboard.

Our team wouldn’t be complete without the experienced captains, shipyard workers, ticket centre and office staff here in Húsavík. Together we form a team which shares a genuine care for the local environment.
Passing knowledge from one generation to another
On many tours this season, you can be welcomed by the captain and owner, Hörður, who established the company in 1995. He skillfully steers his beloved sailing boat Hildur accompanied by his grandson as a deckhand almost every day this summer. This passing down of knowledge and passion from one generation to the next is what makes North Sailing truly special and has been noticed by many of our passengers.
