Minkes, dolphins and a Humpback whale! – Pictures
The conditions in the bay today were rather hairy. The sea was rather rough as you got further out, but we did get some lovely sunshine and smoother patches closer to land. The day was rather special for me, as this was the first time I guided on schooner Haukur! We went out past Puffin Island after having got reports of a Minke whale around those parts. We didn’t manage to find it, but went further out and ran into a lovely group of White Beaked Dolphins which we got a great show from. Thankfully, it seemed most of the passengers had sea legs, as no one got sick despite the swell and I think most people even enjoyed the bumpy ride. More Minke whales were spotted closer to harbor as well.
In the evening tour, a Humpback whale was spotted in the bay, the first one in a while! Some pictures were taken and can be seen below.
