Skjálfandi Bay at its best!

It was a sunny sky that greeted me this morning when I woke up and I immediately had the feeling that this would be a good whale watching day!

The bay was at its best and there were smiles on peoples faces when we sailed out of the harbour into Skjálfandi Bay.

I was the guide in both tours, at 10:00 and at 13:30, and they were very similar since on both tours we saw one Minke whale and one Humpback whale. It took us a little longer time to find the whales on the second tour since they had moved a bit further out.

We observed the whales for a long time and both the Minke whale and the Humpback were really calm and spending a lot of time on the surface and never diving for more than 2-3 minutes at a time.

After a beautiful day in the bay I was really happy about the success and I hope the weather is going to stay like this for a little while J
