Plenty of Llife in a Stormy Sea
In our trip today we had to battle mother nature as the wind was steadily increasing in power and whenever we turned north up into the wind the waves crashed against the bow, giving everyone that stood there a free shower. Some passengers of the younger generation were having the time of their lives and shrieked with delight while others retreated to standing closer to the wheelhouse.
There comes a point when you have to let go and the later tours were cancelled because of weather. Unfortunately it seems it will be cold and windy the next days.
It is irritating because there is no shortage of whales in the bay. We encountered up to three Humpback Whales and a few Harbour Porpoises swam alongside the boat for some time but thats something you rarely see them doing. We catched a glimpse of a Minke Whale but were not able to spot it again in the frothing, grey waves.
Hopefully the wind will get into a better mood soon!
