Many humpbacks in the cold and the dark.
Today was pretty cold but the whales didn’t seem to mind and were staying on the western side of the bay. We found a minke whale on our way over there but unfortunately couldn’t find it again after it went down for a deep dive. We kept going and found a humpback whale on the west side. We followed that around for a while before heading back to the harbour but could see spouts from two or three more whales not far away. My second trip was the evening trip and this late in the summer it’s starting to get a little dark. It was also very cloudy so we wanted to make sure we would find some whales before it got to dark to look. We headed straight to where we had seen the spouts and the whale earlier today. When we had started spotting the spouts we ran into a minke whale which we managed to follow for a while befor continuing to the humpbacks. We had a look at two humpback whales before heading back to the harbour in the dark.
