Still perfect whale watching conditions!
The last couple of days (and also today) we still had amazing whale watching conditions.
During the morning tour we spotted a total of three humpback whales: One of them (a very big individual) in the middle of the bay and two more humpbacks close to the “Fish Rock” (Fiskisker) in the western part of the bay. They were swimming side by side within metres from our boat, quite a spectacular sight!
In the afternoon we even found a total of five humpback whales and one minke whale! We started with a humpback whale and after watching this whale for a while, we went further out. A bit later we found a minke whale. We saw the minke surfacing a few times and went even further out. A few minutes later we were surrounded by four humpback whales! At one point we had three of them surfacing together, right next to the boat! We stayed with these beautiful humpbacks for quite a long time, before we set the course back to Húsavík with a lot of smiling passengers on board.
