Family Yeo, Welcome Again and Again
Today we had the pleasure of welcoming the Yeo family aboard — for the fourth time.
Mr. Yeo is originally from Scotland but when he met his wife, he moved to Iceland.
Together with their two sons they visited Husavik three times in the last two years and joined us on our tours, two motorized tours and one sailing tour.
While on holiday up North this year, the Family Yeo has joined us again for a sailing tour on schooner Hildur.
Mr. Yeo works at the weather agency in Iceland and luckily today the forecast was excellent!
Sailing on Hildur is a real adventure as she first sails to Lundey, also known as the Puffin Island and then across the bay towards the mountains in search of whales and dolphins, and if lucky a harbour porpoise, seal or even Blue whale!
Their eldest son told us all about seeing many Humpback whales and White-beaked dolphins, and of course lots puffins, who were flying on and off to the island to feed their young.
During the trip they also enjoyed the beautiful views and scenery it has to offer, the many whales and dolphins Skjálfandi bay inhabit and use for foraging.
The Humpback whales eat as much as possible to undertake their long migration to warmer waters. The dolphins live around Iceland all year round.
We were told that of the dreams their youngest son has, is to go with a submarine to view the whales from down below.
Maybe that dream will come true one day?
North Sailing would like to thank the Family Yeo for their visit, and hope to see you all again in the near future, enjoy your holiday!
