Guide in training
Today was just an ordinary day. The weather was a little gray this morning and a little drizzle when we headed out, but Whale wise it was just great, Humpbacks, Minkes and Dolphins and all very close to us. The afternoon trip was just about the same, only a little sunnier. So nothing to complain about.
The unusual part about today was going out with my brother, Baldur, who is starting as a Guide with North Sailing. This is my sixth season now as a Guide, Helga, my sister worked here for few seasons so now it is his turn I guess.
He has now sailed with most of the Guides and is getting the hang of the job very fast. His first trip as a fully trained Guide will be in just few days and he seems to be fitting in very nicely. And on that subject, the staff this season is probably the best North Sailing has had since my first season in 2007. Every Guide, Captain, Engineer and Deck Hand is more than capable and the morale has never been better.
Already a great season and will just get better.
