Three species again (Humpbacks, Minkes, Orcas)
It was a bit windy in Húsavík this morning, but a few minutes after we had left the harbour, it calmed down quickly and we had fine weather conditions at sea.
The number of whales is still very impressive and today there must have been about 8-10 humpback whales again, 3 of them feeding/travelling together.
Today there were also surprisingly many minke whales around, probably also at least seven or eight individuals in the same area (and also a bit further south in the bay) where the humpback whales have been.
So on both trips we encountered many humpback and minke whales, but a nice surprise on the afternoon tour was also the sighting of the two male killer whales, probably the same two orcas that have been around here for the last four days in a row now.
Just another wonderful whale watching day in Skjálfandi Bay with three species, nice weather and happy passengers from Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Canada and USA.
