Hungry whales in bad weather
The weather gods were not on our side today as it was quite cold and windy today when we went out onboard “Bjössi Sör” this morning. But that didn’t stop the whales from giving us a great show!
In the same area like yesterday (around the Fish Rock, close to the mountains) we encountered several humpback whales (we counted at least three, maybe even four) and also a minke whale. Two humpbacks were always surfacing together, swimming side by side, and a few times one of the humpbacks was also rolling on the side, showing us the white flippers.
The afternoon was pretty similar: Despite the bad weather we spotted two humpback whales and one minke whale feeding among big groups of seabirds close to the mountains.
The weather forecast for tomorrow looks much better, so fingers crossed that the whales will still be in a good mood.
