An active humpback whale
The morning tour turned out splendid when we encountered a humpback whale, very known to us from former years in the bay, who decided to come close to the boat and show his or her beautiful white fluke! Quite a lot of activity for a short burst, slapping the tail on the surface before going on with feeding, the reason these humpbacks swim from the Northern coast of Africa all the way to Iceland! This tour we were also joined by minke whales and around 20 white-beaked dolphins, spread out in small groups around the boat. The sun was out and on the way back we enjoyed some hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls. A great tour overall and still time to visit the famous Whale Museum in Husavik!
