An amazing and active day out on the bay
Today was an amazing and active day out on the bay! We started with jumping White-beaked dolphins. They were doing full body breaches and backward breaches so we could see the nice drawings of their black and white bodies. These playful dolphins were traveling in a group of about 20 individuals, including some mothers with their calves. We also saw Humpback whales during the day who were feeding in different parts of the bay. In the evening the wind picked up and we sometimes see Humpback whales jumping when the weather is like that, would we be that lucky today? Almost at the end of the tour we saw a large white splash further out North and we decided to sail there. Coming closer we were the lucky witnesses of a breaching Humpback! After watching this spectacle for a while we needed to sail back to Husavik as time was running out. How lucky we were to also have White-beaked dolphins ride the waves on our sail home while having hot chocolate. Can you think of a nicer way to sail home then chocolate, cinnamon roles and dolphins, a fantastic day and evening it was!
