No luck in the morning, better luck in the afternoon

We had amazing weather conditions today in Skjálfandi Bay: There were almost no clouds, the sun was shining and the mountains looked just fantastic with the snow that had fallen there during the last days!

We were searching a really big area on our morning tour (all the areas where we had seen humpback and minke whales yesterday and during the last couple of days), but unfortunately we did not have any luck this time…..so we offered our passengers to come out again with us for free whenever they want.

In the afternoon we went a bit further out, a bit further north-west and about one and a half hour of searching, we finally spotted the blow from a humpback whale! We got some really nice close-up looks at this humpback and the whale was lifting its fluke right next to the boat.

A very nice humpback whale in cold, but really beautiful autumn conditions :-).
