A Humpback after the storm
It is always exciting to go out again after a period of bad weather as you never know what has changed in the bay during the last days.
As we left the harbour, we started our search by setting the course towards the area where we had seen the whales last time but even though we had already been searching a big area in the north-western part of the bay, we didn’t see any sign of a whale. We decided to continue searching further south and after a little while we suddenly spotted the blow from a HUMPBACK WHALE!
It was a pretty nice whale and during the next 30 minutes we could take some close-up looks at it. On our way back to Húsavík harbour, we enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate on this cold November day, but it was of course nice to see that the humpback whales are still around…..
Fingers crossed for the next days! 😉
