Winter has come back for one day
It was quite cold today here in Húsavík as the wind was coming from the north the whole day.
We left the harbour this morning in hope to find yesterday’s minke whales again. They were not as close to Húsavík as yesterday, but after about 45 minutes of sailing, we came across one of the minke whales. It surfaced really close to the boat two times, but it was travelling at high speed in a southerly direction.
We managed to get a few good looks at the minke whale, but after a little while the whale seemed to have disappeared (it probably continued to travel at high speed), so we decided to sail further west in the direction of the mountains.
The mountains looked really beautiful this morning as they were almost completely white (it had been snowing during the night).
On the way back we also spotted a harbour porpoise, before we warmed up ourselves with a cup of hot chocolate and sailed back to Húsavík harbour.
