Presenting a World of Eco-friendly Sailing Adventures
North Sailing attended the annual Mannamót Workshop in Kópavogur, where companies from all around Iceland presented their tours and experiences while meeting up with friends and colleagues from the Icelandic travel industry.
New East Greenland 13-Day Expedition in 2023
Our latest addition to our Arctic Sailing Expeditions is the new East Greenland Extended tour that will take place from 13–25 September 2023. We will explore deeper into the less visited fjords of Scoresby Sound for ten amazing days and then sail back all the way to our hometown of Húsavík, Iceland!
Silent Whale Watching on Andvari and Ópal
The Silent Whale Watching 3-hour tour from Húsavík has been very well-received, and we are pleased to announce another season of this unique wildlife tour. Join our electric boat Andvari or the hybrid-electric sailboat Opal for a responsible encounter with the whales of Skjálfandi Bay.
Extra Summer Solstice Expedition from Húsavík
Sailing the Edge of the Arctic 3-Day Expedition on the award-winning sailboat Opal is already sold out for Summer Solstice this year. Due to high demand, we have added an extra date from 16–18 June 2023! There are still a few seats left so get in touch if you’re interested in joining us in exploring the wildlife and islands of the Arctic North Coast of Iceland.
Svalbard Ski and Sail Expeditions
We are back in Svalbard offering on-demand Ski and Sail Expeditions in one of the most unbelievable ski-touring settings in the Arctic. If you’re looking for a fun and experienced crew to sail you into the secluded peaks of Svalbard, make sure to get in touch.
Schooner Ópal back to Reykjavík for winter tours
We are planning our return to Reykjavík next winter where we will be offering tours on the one and only schooner Ópal. Our guests will have a chance to watch the northern lights from a sailboat on our Sails, Lights and Winter Nights evening tours. We will also be hosting some exciting tours, expeditions and events on board Ópal so make sure to follow our updates for the upcoming Ópal adventures from Reykjavík.
Hot Chocolate, Cinnamon Buns and local Rum
At our North Sailing exhibition stand at Mannamót we offered guests a taste of our fair-trade hot chocolate and a mini version of our popular cinnamon buns. This combo is a signature refreshment of North Sailing, offered to all passengers on our day tours from Húsavík and Hjalteyri. We also offered a taste of Reykjavík rum, a locally-made version of this popular sailing companion.
Get inspired for good deeds this year
At the exhibition stand this year we threw a tombola challenge from our partners at Ocean Missions. Guests could pick a numbered piece of reused plastic from fishing buoys to find out if they were challenged to join a beach cleaning, tree planting or any other healthy activities for a better planet. Make sure to visit Ocean Mission’s exhibition room down by Húsavík harbour on your next visit to Húsavík to learn, connect and act for a healthy future of our oceans.
Join us for an Eco-friendly Sailing Adventure this year
We like to thank everyone who visited us at Mannamót this year, it was great to meet you all and get such positive feedback on our upcoming tours and expeditions. See you onboard this season!
