Northern Lights boat tour from Reykjavík sounds exciting, right? But what happens if we upgrade the boat to a charming and beautiful sailboat powered only by wind and electricity? Northern Lights boat tour Reykjavik – from the heart of the city
Our authentic and awesome sailboat, Opal, is docked at the best possible spot in the heart of Reykjavík, only 10-minute walk from the city centre. Opal will sail every evening at 19:30 and you will easily see the boat when you approach the harbour – just look for the high masts! Opal is also available for tailor-made tours or special events, whatever you have in mind, this stunning vessel is the perfect platform for an unforgettable adventure.
On-deck hot tub and cozy dinner by the fire
Our sailboat Opal is so much more then a boat. It’s more like a floating world of adventures. The on-deck wooden hot tub is something you have to try! There is nothing like being in the warm water, sipping a beer, while the boat glides silently along the ocean. Even more special when the Northern Lights colour the sky above.
Below deck is a super cozy saloon where we serve delicious meals prepared on-board by our own arctic chef. Sitting by the fireplace while enjoying your meal, with a glass of wine is very, very, very nice, to say the least.
Sails, Lights & Winter Nights
During this 2,5 hour evening sailing, the view is spectacular. You will see the Reykjavík City Lights and Yoko Ono’s Peace Tower* in a remarkable way from onboard the sailboat. The nearby lighthouses and islands are lit up with history and folklore and our professional guide will tell you of legends and life in and around these coastal settlements. When conditions are favourable the crew will hoist the sails and you can assist them with the rigging, getting the feel of being a real explorer.
If you are looking for some unique and very special things to do in Reykjavik, make sure to put Sails, Lights & Winter Nights on your bucket list.
See you at the docks!
