Breaching Humpback Whale in Húsavík
This weekend, our guide on board captured an amazing footage of a breaching Humpback whale in Húsavík. While she was scouting for where it might surface, it breached all of a sudden right in front of the boat.
The passengers screamed and cheered in awe as the Humpback whale breached few meters from them. One of the giants from the sea was unexpectedly half in the air. You could sense the raw power it withholds as it springs from the water.
This amazing scenery continued for another hour, leaving them completely speechless.
The Humpback whales in the bay have been really playful so far, and seem to love our gentle approach. By allowing them to approach us we’ve had bewildering encounters with the whales thus far!

You Know Where to Go If You Want to See a Breaching Humpback Whale in Húsavík!
Húsavík is the place to be this summer. There are probably as many whales in Húsavík as there are natural hot springs in Iceland. That is, more than we can count!
We’re extremely lucky to have all of these whales – and more – in our beautiful bay. The sailing towards traditional whale watching areas is extremely scenic. Picturesque mountain range on one hand and the infinity and beyond on the other!
See you in Húsavík – the Whale Capital of Iceland!
