Two faithful old friends
When we left the harbour onboard “Náttfari” this morning, we had once again fantastic weather conditions: flat sea and a beautiful autumn light.
We set the course towards the western part of the bay where we had been lucky yesterday.
It proved to be a good idea as it did not take us long until we spotted the blows of two humpback whales close to the mountains!
We got some really good looks at these two humpbacks and as they also lifted their majestic flukes right next to our boat, it was also easy to identify them (no two humpback whales have the same pattern on the underside of their fluke, so it is just like our human fingerprint).
We realized that these two whales were individuals that have already been around here in the bay for a few weeks now and we are of course hoping that they will stay with us a little bit longer.
