An adventure on schooner Hildur
We’ve been blessed with great sailing conditions today, a nice wind and lots of sun, the perfect day to go whale watching and sailing in the bay! The two crew members and captain on board were just as excited as the passengers to be out on such a lovely day.
Our day got even better once we noticed a whale’s blow not far from the boat. As we got closer we saw that was not one humpback but two, swimming along together. This is always a treat to see as these whales are usually solitary animals, and it is not so often we see two of them swimming in a synchronised manner. Before long a third humpback arrived in the area, there must have been a lot of food in that area! After an hour or so basking in the company of these whales, we sailed back to the harbour, enjoying hot chocolte with rum and cinamon rolls and chatting about the wonders that we had just seen.
