Magical day in the Skjálfandi Bay

This day out in the bay on our lovely sailing boat Hildur had a lot of surprises. Even though we had occasional rain periods throughout the day we had several good sightings. Due to the light rain and short sunny moments we had rainbows appear everywhere, turning the tours into a magical experience. After enjoying the huge number of puffins at the island Lundey we spent most of our time close to the mountains, which looked very mystical with the constantly changing fog. We had several humpback whales nicely distributed close in this area. Some animals surfaced very close to the boat, giving us a great look at them. In the end of the day most of them started diving a bit longer. We had to show patience and got rewarded in the end, because these animals spent more time at the surface and seemed very relaxed during this time. All in all another beautiful day out in the Skjálfandi Bay.
