Cold but magical

Despite the cold and clouded morning we started our day in the Skjálfandi Bay very optimistic. We only had to travel a short time until we spotted our first whale spout. It turned out to be a humpback whale. We stayed with it for some magical moments and then continued our trip to the west. There we encountered two humpback whales together and even more whale spouts in this region. One of those turned out to be a blue whale and at this point in the day we found ourselves surrounded by whales. It was hard to choose which animal we wanted to look at next since the bay was filling up with humpback whales. Our luck continued with some incredible close encounters. In the end of the day the clouds started to clear up a little bit, which gave us the opportunity for some amazing pictures.
