Perfect whale watching on summer solstice
Summer solstice presented itself with perfect conditions. It was a warm, mainly sunny day, almost no wind – and consequently we had perfect conditions for our whale watching tours. The visibility was excellent, so we had no difficulties in finding the animals. Obviously the bay is still offering a lot of food for the cetaceans, and we came across several white beaked dolphins as well as few small groups of harbor porpoises. But the highlight were again the humpback whales. We observed at least nine of them busy feeding close to the sea surface and inbetween them four or five minke whales joined the feeding frenzy, offering us unforgettable moments with these fascinating animals.
