The feeding frenzy continues….
I have been guiding three tours today (10:00, 13:30 and 20:00) and all three tours have been absolutely amazing!
During the whole day, there was a large feeding frenzy taking place close to the mountains on the western side of the bay with thousands of seabirds, several humpback whales, lots of minke whales and a really large number of harbour porpoises. These three species have been seen on all our tours today and it was just amazing to see the whales feeding at the surface.
We have seen humpback whales feeding with the mouth wide open, during the afternoon we had one humpback whale slapping with its tail at the surface and on the evening tour one of the humpback whales even jumped completely out of the water!
What a day! Fingers crossed that the whale feast will continue tomorrow…..
