A magical evening trip…..

We had already seen several humpback and minke whales (as well as some dolphins) during our tours earlier today, so when we left the harbour at 18:00 onboard “Garðar”, we were pretty optimistic that also this evening tour would be a good one – and we were right!

The weather conditions were simply fantastic with the sea as flat as a mirror and the sun shining for us the whole time and as were arrived in the western part of the bay (close to the beautiful mountains), the sea was full of life: We spotted a humpback whale, several minke whales and a large number of white-beaked dolphins as well as lots of seabirds within a pretty small area!

We had simply fantastic encounters: The humpback whale surfaced several times right next to our boat and the dolphins were bow-riding in front of our boat for a long time and many of them were also jumping really high out of the water! What a wonderful sight!

We came back to Húsavík with a boat full of happy passengers :-).
