The humpback show continues…..
Yesterday we got some amazing looks at a flipper-slapping (“waving”) humpback whale and today the same humpback whale was waving with its flippers again for us!
This morning we already spotted the humpback whale in the south-western part of the bay as well as several minke whales in the same area feeding among big flocks of seabirds.
But on our tour at 13:30 we heard from some other boats in the area that “our” humpback whale had got some company and that there were two humpback whales swimming together in the same area. Of course we decided to take a look and after a little while, one of the humpback whales decided to roll on its back, showing us the belly and slapping with its long white flippers at the surface – what a sight!
We got some really nice looks at these two humpback whales (including the one that was flipper-slapping) and one in the evening (on our tour at 18:00) we spotted one of the humpback whales again as well as a minke whale that surfaced pretty close to the boat a few times.
