Three species during the day and a beautiful evening

On most of our tours we had spotted three species of cetaceans during the day (humpback whale, minke whale and white-beaked dolphins), so we were pretty optimistic when we left the harbour at 18:00 onboard our biggest vessel “Garðar”…..and we were right!

We had a wonderful tour in Skjálfandi Bay this evening with beautiful weather conditions (flat sea and an amazing evening sun) and lots of animals!

We first spend a little while with a big humpback whale that has been around here in the bay during the last couple of days and after some really nice close-up looks we headed a bit further and it did not take long until we were surrounded by dolphins! They were simply everywhere!

And they gave us a wonderful show: They were jumping really high out of the water, riding on the bow waves from our boat and checking us out – it was simply amazing!

A wonderful whale watching day here in Húsavík comes to end, fingers crossed for tomorrow!
