Finding whales in the fog
A pretty good day on Garðar, given the foggy, rainy, and cold conditions at least. On the morning tour we had to do quite a bit of following as the whales would spend a lot of time under the surface of the water and then usually come up quite far away from us, always lifting the fluke, but towards the end it became a bit easier to approach and we got some better sightings. All the whales seen on Garðar were Humpback Whales. More or less the same happened on the afternoon tour but the evening tour was the best one. Then we went straight over to the western part of the bay and found two humpbacks, of which one was a very good friend of ours for the tour and we got some many delightful flukings in the fog before heading back home.
