A blue whale calf with a blue whale mother
This morning as we headed to the bay the only thing we saw in the beginning was fog. But we still started the search for the whales. After about an hour we did see some thing through the fog so we waited and waited. But no whale appeared. There for we decided to go further north because there we had heard that the fog was not as heavy. As we got further north we found some White beaked dolphins and got a grate look at them. About at that time we were planning on starting the journey towards Húsavík we saw some thing appearing bit further towards the south. As we came closer I was not really sure what we had found there. Because it looked like a blue whale but was way to small for that. But suddenly a bigger whale surfaced next to this small one. And that was for shure a Blue whale, so we had found a Blue whale with a calf. It was fantastic to see how the calf was following the mother. After a unique show we had to leave them behind because we had no time left. But on the way back towards Húsavík we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon buns.
