A Blue in the morning and Humpies in the afternoon
Well, today was not quite the same as yesterday; more windy, rainy in in the morning, and fewer whales around; but it was still good. After all, how can being in the presence of the largest animal that has ever occupied the Earth not be.
This morning the main delight of the bay was a Blue Whale but this individual would only surface 2-3 times in a row and spend long time underwater. However, we got to see it decently on several occasions. One or two Humpback Whales were around too but they were elusive and not seen well. However some changes occurred between the morning and the afternoon. The Blue Whale was not seen again but there were at least three Humpback Whales around, two of which associated for a while and swam together but when they split up, one was seen very calmly and close by our boat Garðar on several different occasions, almost all the time it would lift the fluke wonderfully and that is exactly how it said goodbye to us – just lovely!
