Humpbacks in between the waves.
This morning as Nils and I where boarding in our yellow overalls we did not know what kind of a show was waiting for us out in the bay. The only thing we knew was that the swells where high and a cold wind was blowing from the north. For that reason we brought up blue overalls and raincoats for our passengers.
As all passengers had the overalls and raincoats on we headed towards the bay. There where the waves waiting for us.
We got really lucky for that we did not have to search for long until we found a Humpback whale. After some time we noticed that we did not only have one, we had four. There we had found two cupules who where feeding close to the surface and there fore not diving long. At one time we also got a really close up encounter as two of them surfaced just in front.
After a successful trip we set the course towards Húsavík harbor again and enjoyed the hot chocolate and the cinnamon bun.
