Donna Wood report
Donna Wood is now midway between Shetlands islands and the Faroye Islands. We received a status report from the crew stating that the trip from Skagen in Denmark to the Shetlands islands was favourable in terms of winds and sailing conditions.
The crew weathered off a storm in Lerwick in the Shetland islands for a day and mentioned how friendly the inhabitants are.
The ship is heading a bit more North than the plan was at first due to a weather system which is closing in from the South and they will try to reach Húsavík before the weather gets worse.
It is noteable that the age difference of the crew ranges form 19 – 84 years and the 84 year old – Mr. Bjössi Sör had a birthday party on board two days ago. Mr. Bjössi Sör has taken part in bringing all eight North Sailing ships to Húsavík.
All in all the trip from Gilleleje slipyard in Denmark to Húsavík is about 1.150 nautical miles.
ETA for Húsavík is now around mid-day on Sunday.
Captain Philipp Grözinger, first mate Heimir Harðarson, engineer Tomas Dulik and the rest of the North Sailing crew of Donna Wood send their regards.
