An excellent day for whale watching
Yesterday was a perfect day for whale watching. We had an amazing weather, searching conditions were excellent and plenty of wildlife in the bay.
On our first tour at 10:00 h yesterday morning we saw five minke whales within half an hour of sailing. They were all in the same area so every direction we looked we had a different animal. They came up to the surface frequently, keeping us on our toes and turning our heads every minute. Later we found three humpback whales in the middle of the bay. The wind blew calmly and the sea was nearly flat so it was easy to spot the whales just by listening to their breath when they surfaced. Two of them were eager to show off their fluke. One of them approached us and took a deep dive right in front of the boat giving us a great view of the pattern underneath the fluke.

On the second tour, at 13:30 h, we had a lot of animals as well. We saw at least three minke whales and three humpack whales. The humpbacks were showing off their flukes so we could identify at least two different individuals. We had a lot of guillemots and puffins out on the sea, which is always an amusement to passengers and crew. Especially so early in the season!
All in all it was a very good day. It is clear that summer is just around the corner. The weather is getting better and the whales and birds are making the bay more lively again.
