What an evening tour!
When we left the harbour at 17:00 today onboard “Náttfari”, we had already been on two very successful tours, but this evening tour turned out to be simply amazing:
After about sailing for one hour, we found the humpback whale that we had already seen earlier today. It was obviously feeding at the surface as it took only very short and shallow dives and came up with a mouth full of food! But it was simply amazing how close this big humpback whale surface to our boat! We did not move the boat at all and the whale surfaced just within metres of “Náttfari”, again and again!!!
After this great show from the humpback whale we decided to keep on searching for more and it took us just a few minutes to find a nice group of white-beaked dolphins! The dolphins were really calm and we goot some fantastic looks at them. And as we enjoyed the company of the dolphins, all of a sudden a minke whale surface just a few metres away!
Three species and fantastic weather conditions (and not to forget the delicious hot chocolate on the way back) made for an amazing evening trip today!
