A wonderful evening tour…..
We had perfect conditions when we left the harbour at 18:00 this evening onboard “Garðar”.
We set the course in the direction of an area where we had already seen several humpback whales during the day and as we were sailing north towards that area, it did not take us long to spot a very nice minke whale.
The minke whale surfaced several times really close to the boat and we had already spotted some splashes in the distance, so we decided to leave the minke whale and head for these splashes……
After a few minutes of sailing, we were surrounded by a big group of white-beaked dolphins!
They were all around us and even came to the front of our boat for a little while to bow-ride and surf on the waves from our boat! Just amazing to see!
As we left the dolphins, we soon found three different humpback whales, one of them was really calm and relaxed and surfaced many times just right next to us, lifting its majestic tail within metres from the boat!
Just a wonderful tour with very nice people, very nice whales and beautiful weather conditions!
