Great Humpback Whales and a curious Minke Whale

What a beautiful day out on Skjálfandi Bay!

We headed out this morning on of our boats Bjössi Sör. The wind was calm, it was warm and the sun was shining.

On this tour we ran into three amazing Humpback Whales. The first one was really big and it was definitely not shy. It came up very close to the boat many times and we got some great fluke shows. A bit further north there were two more Humpbacks. They were in a good mood as well and one of them even did a little tail slapping for us.

On our second tour we also spotted one of the Humpbacks and also a Minke Whale. It was a really small one, probably a calve. It was also a very curious one! It circled around us for about twenty minutes, going under the boat and coming up right next to us. One time it came up slowly and relaxed and it kind of looked like it was smiling and checking us out.

A gret day on Skjálfandi Bay. Lets just cross our fingers that the sun and the whales will stick around.
