Breaching Humpback whale
As we got to the bay today for the 18:00 trip on Bjössi Sör we got news from Knörrin. They told us that they had spotted a breaching Humpback whale. For us it was clear where to set the course. After about a half hour of sailing we came closer to Knörrinn and the whale. We got really lucky because the whale did not stop the breaching. Later on it started also lob tailing. This show went on for at least 45 minutes. Now we decided to go further west and try out our luck there. We were not disappointed for that we found a group of White Beaked dolphins. There we also got a magnificent show as the mothers surfaced together with their calves. They were surfacing all around our boat. As we set the course towards Húsavík they also followed us for a while. On the way back we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
