The bay is full of Humpback whales
As I headed to the bay on Garðar along with engineer Jens and captain Hrólfur we set the course to an area where we had gotten news of some whales. As we arrived there we did not have to wait for long until we spotted a spout from a humpback whale. But this one was diving a bit to long for us so we decided to continue our journey through Skjálfandi bay. Soon we found our second humpback whale and got a great view at him as he was often showing us his fluke as he was going for a dive. After we had gotten a great show from him we decided to go and look for some other species. Again we did not have to sail for long until we noticed white beaked dolphins in the distance. As we came closer we noticed that the dolphins were around a Humpback whale. So now we had spotted three of them. After we had spent some time together with them we noticed a Minke whale a bit further south of us. So we set our course there and also got a great view at him. Now we where running out of our time so we had to set course towards Húsavík. On the way we enjoyed hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
