A perfect day!
At 10am this morning we sailed out into Skjálfandi bay and the weather was perfect, the sea was completely flat and it was half clouded. It didn’t take more than 15 minutes before we spotted a Minke whale. It was very calm and we got quite close to it several times. Then we headed in the direction of Lundey (puffin Island) and saw plenty of puffins all around. When we had just passed Lundey we spotted a small group of white beaked dolphins! They didn’t show any interest in us before we were just about to leave, then they started to swim along with the boat. After we had spend some time with the dolphins we heard some news from Bjössi Sör about a humpback whale. So we headed west towards the mountains and got a great look at one calm humpback. It lifted the fluke several times so there were probably some good photos taken. After that it was time for hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls!
